25,000 Louisianians

will be diagnosed with cancer this year.

Thanks from School of Nursing

We would like to share the gratitude that came our way with our sponsors and supporters.

"I just wanted to write a note to thank you for the Cancer Foundation's generous gift to the University of Louisiana at Monroe Kitty DeGree School of Nursing through the Theresa Marsala Memorial Nursing Fund. In order to plan for the long term, the School of Nursing is currently allowing this money to accrue. The School of Nursing will then use the interest earned from the principle to help fund faculty positions and equipment for the nursing labs. As the budget cuts have increased over the past few years, this support from the Cancer Foundation is increasingly important to the School of Nursing."

"The School of Nursing is involved in numerous community events and will continue to work hard to serve the community. In turn, it is with the help of the community that the Kitty DeGree School of Nursing will be able to continue to make a positive impact in our community and in our society as a whole. We are committed to continuing the excellence in nursing education."

"Once again, thank you for your generosity. Please contact me if the School of Nursing can be of service to the Louisiana Cancer Foundation or the Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute."

Sincerely,
Emily S. Doughty, Ed.D., RN
Director
