What We Do

Our programs are unique and open to anyone regardless of financial status, offering free public cancer screenings and direct patient assistance to cancer patients in Northeast Louisiana.

About Louisiana Cancer Founation
The Louisiana Cancer Foundation for Research and Education is a nonprofit health service organization whose programs are designed to encompass all phases of the cancer experience. From prevention through education and research, to free cancer screenings for early detection, we try to teach individuals the importance of taking care of their own health in a responsible way. However, regardless of what we do or do not do, people still develop cancer. Knowing that when this happens, it can be one of the most difficult experiences of a person’s life, we offer cancer patients support programs for both their emotional needs as well as their financial needs.
Patient Financial Assistance Program

Patient Financial Assistance Program

Our Patient Financial Assistance Program provides assistance for cancer related medication, transportation to/from treatment, nutritional supplements, medical supplies, and household bills.

Appearance Support Items

Appearance support items such as wigs, mastectomy bras, and prosthetics, are an important part of the journey. We offer these services to support your physical and emotional healing.

We support local support groups for patients facing cancer. Open to both patients and their loved ones, these groups offer a place to connect, share, and find strength together.

Our Fundraisers & Events

Our fundraisers and events help The Louisiana Cancer Foundation provide practical support for cancer patients, hold free public cancer screenings, and fund cancer research and education in northeast Louisiana. Our yearly events include Cancer Foundation League Masquerade Ball, DBK Dance and Performing Arts Fashion Fusion, M.A.D. Dash 5K and Cancer Survivor’s Breakfast.
