Assistance Program
We provide assistance for cancer related medication, transportation to/from treatment, nutritional supplements, medical supplies, and household bills.
Through the continued efforts of our fundraising arm, The Cancer Foundation League, a patient assistance fund is maintained to offer financial support to cancer patients of all ages who currently live or receive treatment in northeast Louisiana. This fund provides critical daily relief by directly addressing the financial burdens that come with a cancer diagnosis.
Specifically, the fund helps patients in three key areas:
Medical Supplies & Medication
Copays and out-of-pocket costs for essential treatments add up quickly. We provide funding to help cover the expenses of vital cancer-related medications and the daily medical supplies required for your ongoing care.
Nutritional Supplements
Fighting cancer requires strength, but treatments can make it difficult to maintain proper nutrition. We routinely purchase specialized nutritional supplements to help patients preserve their health, manage side effects, and keep their strength up during treatment.
Transportation Gas Cards
Getting to doctors’ appointments, chemotherapy, and radiation should never be hindered by the cost of fuel. We provide gas cards to ensure patients have reliable transportation and never have to miss a vital medical appointment due to travel expenses.
Household Expenses
A cancer diagnosis often leads to missed work and mounting bills. To ease this stress, our fund assists patients with everyday household expenses—such as utility bills, rent, or grocery costs—allowing them to focus their energy entirely on healing.

Our Fundrraisers & Events
Our fundraisers and events help The Louisiana Cancer Foundation provide practical support for cancer patients, hold free public cancer screenings, and fund cancer research and education in northeeast Louisiana. Our yearly events include Cancer Foundation League Gala, Cancer Foundation League Fashion Fusion, Cancer Foundation League Theresa Marsala Golf Tournament, MAD Dash, and Cancer Survivor’s Breakfast.
